“Sepia” evokes a color, yet its name traces to the squid from which the pigment originates. Fatih Şahin, retaurant owner raised in Akyaka with deep familial ties to the sea and fishing, honors that lineage. He uses sepia as bait for plentiful, generously sized catches and named his restaurant Sepia as a tribute to this modest, vital cephalopod.

Sepia for him is a symbol of respect for the sea, reverence for nature, and fidelity to heritage. The interior concept translates the creature and its habitat into space—a palette of reddish-brown, coral red, ocean green and black; layered textures and water-ripple surfaces rendered in varied materials; and fluid, undulating forms that weave throughout the dining environment.
